Handicapping adds considerably to the pleasure of golfers, making it possible for players of differing abilities to compete equitably. We all joined ASGA to meet people and have fun. We play in organized team-driven events, doesn't it make sense to maintain an official handicap. Handicaps are used as tools in pairing teams, and they are necessary for equitable scoring. Tampa ASGA encourages its members to establish a handicap Index and post your scores regularly. The desire to lower your handicap can be a great incentive. The cost is $15.00. This covers your handicap service from January 2008 to December 2008. Pay at the meetings or send it in to ASGA Tampa; Attention: Edie Senensky; 351 Steeplechase Lane; Palm Harbor, FL 34684. The fastest, easiest, and preferred methods of reporting your scores is for you to do it yourself online. To post online go to www.fsga.org, click on Handicapping, click on the box that says ONLINE score posting GHIN. Each person logs in with his/her GHIN# and last name. Then just fill in the information about the golf round. Or you can email me at orcalady@tampabay.rr.com or snail mail me at 26316 Whirlaway Terrace. Wesley Chapel, FL 33544. When you do that, you need to give me your score, the date, course rating and the slope. Some of our members may have GHIN Handicaps from other clubs. I need to have this information to keep accurate records. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. ~ Cindy Simon
